This project started out as a web series of 12 episodes, the first 2 of which were broadcast on the NYC based TV show 'Late Night With Jake Sasseville'. The 13 minute film version played at the HIroshima Animation Festival in 2012, and other festivals in Italy and the U.S.
In 2004 I worked on a multi-million dollar sci-fi animation series (Captain Scarlet) using what was, at the time, cutting edge motion capture technology. Years later, in 2011, I was amused to discover that an expressionless mannequin head was far more emotionally communicative than the characters in the TV show.
This phenomena, an expressionless face with body language determining emotions - can of course be seen in art forms from Kabuki to Hitchcock's leading men (He would apparently get infuriated with Jimmy Stewart's attempts to 'act' in reaction shots, preferring a blank face).
My friend Andreas Paleologos, aka: Cuckoo (who plays the scarf wearing alien and made the synth music) and I would regularly have lunch at a Pakistani restaurant which played pirate DVDs of Bollywood music videos with the most appalling colour balance and digital compression - but we thought they looked fabulous! 'Quality? Pah - give me the noise!'
One of the cooks at the restaurant, Raj Kumar Gandhari, also performed the Himalayan climbing song which features about half way through this film!

Below is an animatic of the 5 min animation 'DINOMIGHT!' which I made with the brilliant Martin Clapp in 2001. The project never got beyond this stage but elements of it made it into 'IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU GO THEY'RE ALL IDIOTS!' This features the music of God The Band, written specifically for the film.
Also below is a 'making off' video. (Which is a complete lie and has no bearing on how we actually made the film!) And a brief montage of some of my entirely daft and unsuccessful fund-raising videos.... dear oh dear....

Incalcitranous Rex's first exposure outside of my little office in Oslo... Amazingly, a couple of 'episodes' were screened on a late night talk show in the US.... in 2010 ... and ... well.... here it is ... at 14.45 and 23.15... !!
The second 'episode' is unique... it deleted it / wrote over it ... whatever ... it only exists here. I just came across it now... in November 2019... 9 years later... and I have to say ... I'm proud as fuck. :)
