.. eh... my first attempt at a proper oil painting in... almost 30 years. Holy banana what a nightmare. This is a work in progress... we'll see what develops... wish me luck!  And so it begins.... First recording session of Things To Read Before You Run Out Of Air....13/11/2018  The infamous 'Panda Woman' - recorded today!   Fooling around after sunday's shoot with three of the most bad ass women you'll ever meet. Tú También Cabrón!
Before and after.... It's possible I'm the only person who has told 'La Briosa' what to do and lived to tell the tale...

This time it's pencil... an interesting exercise... we had to draw the outline of the figure without taking our pencil off the paper... (!) ... i think this was a half hour pose... quite exhausting to be honest!  One with of linseed oil and I am transported back to 1992, in the art department at King's Canterbury, painting rocks on a truly awful Dali inspired monstrosity... I read something somewhere - a quote from someone of some artistic repute - where they said you always have your taste, but your skills have to catch up with it. Sorry darling but that's absolute rubbish. You taste evolves as you grow. If i had the same (lack of) taste I had when I was 18..... sheesh.. what a nightmare... Anyway... today I'd like to think my taste has evolved in the last quarter century! From today's figure drawing class.... Oil on paper, 1 hour pose.  |
